American vocalist and actress Selena Gomez has drilled down into her own health challenges, uncovering that she can’t convey her own child because of medical issues.
The star of “Who Says” stated in a recent interview with Vanity Fair that her health condition makes it unsafe for her to become pregnant.
“I have never spoken this, yet I can’t bear my own kids. I have a number of health issues that could put my life and the life of the baby in danger. That was something I needed to grieve for some time,” she said.
Selena also said that the news was hard to take in because it wasn’t how she had imagined becoming a mother.
“It’s not really the manner in which I imagined it. I figured it would happen the manner in which it occurs for everybody. But with that, I’m in a much better place. I find it a gift that there are great individuals able to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both enormous opportunities for me,” said the singer.
Selena remains hopeful and excited about her future as a mother despite the difficulties. She shared that while her way to having kids might contrast from what she once imagined, she is eager for the experience.
“I’m invigorated for what that journey will look like; however, it’ll look somehow different. I have no interest in the matter at all. I’ll have it. It’ll be my child,” she said.
Pondering her own life, Selena said, “Before I met my boyfriend, I was single for a very long time, except for going on a couple of dates. Also, I was like, ‘OK, on the off chance that this is the energy, what is overwhelmingly significant from my perspective? Family.’”
