Sequel to the orders signed by Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, covering chieftaincy matters, appointments issues, the setting up of a review panel, staff audits, and employment matters, the people of Abere, Ede, humbly inform His Excellency that Alabere of Abere, Mutalib Adefemi, has planned to inaugurate the chieftaincy title on December 30, 2022, which is violating the order.
According to the information gathered by the people of Abere, “The so called Alabere of Abere, Mutalib Adefemi, has planned to give some people chieftaincy titles on December 30, 2022, we seek the help of our His Excellency to stop him from doing so in order to avoid anarchy in Abere, Ede.”
According to the order signed on November 28, 2022;
Executive Order number five on Chieftaincy Affairs and appointment of traditional rulers
“All appointments of traditional rulers made by Osun State Government after 17th July, 2022, are hereby ordered to be reviewed to ensure there was strict compliance with due process of chieftaincy declarations and native law, custom and tradition relating to such chieftaincies. In the case of Ikirun, Iree and Igbajo, to avoid further breakdown of law and order, the appointments of Akinrun of Ikinrun, Aree of Ire and Owa of Igbajo are hereby put on hold pending review. Subsequently, the palaces of Akinrun of Ikirun, Aree of Iree and Owa of Igbajo should remain unoccupied, while security agencies are hereby ordered to take charge.”
It is noteworthy that the Alabere of Abere, Mutalib Adefemi, has violated “Executive Order No. 5 on Chieftaincy Affairs and the Appointment of Traditional Rulers.”
However, the people of Abere hereby seek your immediate action towards the violation of chieftaincy affairs and the appointment of traditional rulers to stop the Alabere of Abere before inaugurating a new chieftaincy on December 30, 2022.
