The Imo State governorship political decision, the competitors of the People Democratic Party, PDP and Labour Party, LP), Senators Samuel Anyanwu and Athan Achonu, organized a walkout at a partners’ gathering coordinated by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).
The partners meeting held in Owerri on Wednesday. The candidates had communicated their interests to INEC, requesting the redeployment of the state Resident Electoral (REC), Professor Sylva Agu.
Tuesday’s gathering was important for INEC’s connections with the governorship candidates, security offices, the media, civil society organizations, and different partners in front of the November 11 survey.
The INEC Director, Mahmood Yakubu, was addressed by the National Commissioner representing the southeast, Kenneth Ukeagu.
After Ukeagu requested writers to switch off their cameras and devices and leave the lobby, LP’s delegate governorship competitor, Mr Tony Nwulu, and that of PDP, Jones Onyereri, who represented their flagbearers, and different authorities of the resistance ideological groups fervently went against the order.
The pair demanded that the press, as basic partners, couldn’t be prohibited from the gathering.
Nwulu claimed that there were plans by INEC to rig the political decision for the decision All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state, contemplating whether the gathering was “a mysterious religion issue.”
Talking on the side of Nwulu, Onyereri showed duplicates of archives he depicted as phony outcome sheets posted on the INEC entry during the Place of Get together political decision in the state.
